Produced by DJ Squeeky and released in early 1996, Caughtcha Slippin’ is Yo Lynch’s debut tape and one of the earliest releases from DJ Squeeky’s 1996 catalog. The tape is believed to have been released before Criminal Manne’s self-titled tape and likely before Greatest Hits #2, capturing the beginning of another productive year for the Squeeky camp. The title track features by Young Lo, while the tape also has appearances from Criminal Manne, Thugsta, Tom Skeemask, Lil Grove, and Mr. 187. Mr. Black, who is credited on the cassette label, served as Yo Lynch’s cousin and personal manager during this period. Although short in length, Caughtcha Slippin’ stands as another solid release from one of Memphis’ most influential production camps during the mid-1990s.
