Unlike earlier volumes that leaned more toward straight DJ showcases, More Bass Part #4 feels like a transition tape. The mixes are slower, darker, and more deliberate, reflecting the shift happening across the Memphis underground as artists moved away from fast party energy toward something heavier and more menacing. The inclusion of tracks like “Playa Hatin’ Hos” featuring Young Lo, Tom Skeemask, and Thugsta ties the tape directly into the wider Squeeky/Zirk camp that was dominating the city during this period.
