Truma Center Killaz – 60 Minutes Part #2 The Best of Tha Truma Center Volume #2 (1995)
The Best of Tha Trauma Center Volume #2 stands as one of the few surviving documents from the Trauma Center Killaz camp, produced by G-Loc during the mid-90s Memphis underground explosion. Earlier material including Volume #1 is considered lost. The group’s core lineup features Lil 187 (also known as Mr. Death from Ridgrove Mafia), G38, Ms. Myke, and Stoney Mac, blending raw street narratives with eerie, lo-fi production typical of the era. G-Loc’s beats lean heavily into dark synth loops, stripped drum programming, and gritty vocal mixes that place the tape firmly within the horror-tinged aesthetic dominating Memphis in 1995. Tracks like “.45 Glock” and “187” emphasize the crew’s aggressive tone, while posse cuts such as “Recognize” and “Murder on My Mind” highlight the collaborative energy between affiliates. Despite its rough underground sound, the tape captures a unique regional perspective, preserving voices from a scene where many releases circulated only locally and were never widely reissued.
