Runnin’ In The Wind was produced by Tommy Wright III during late 1995 and early 1996 and was released at the beginning of the summer of 1996. The tape came out after Ten Wanted Men but before Niggaz of Destruction and Soul Takers, placing it within an important stretch of Riverside Click and Tommy Wright III material from this period. The tape features a large lineup of Riverside Niggaz and affiliated artists, with Tommy Wright III himself appearing on “Roastin’ N Toastin’.” The group also takes shots at Three 6 Mafia on “River Roast,” adding another piece to the ongoing rivalries and diss tracks that were part of the Memphis underground scene during the mid-1990s. With Tommy Wright III’s production, a stacked Riverside Click lineup, and several previously hard-to-find appearances, Runnin’ In The Wind is an important 1996 tape for documenting the Riverside side of Memphis rap history.
