Released after Pimps, Macs, Hustlas, & Playas and before Gangsta Tales. Crazy Red continues Orange Juice Click’s 1995 run with production handled entirely by Chilly D. This tape leans heavily into that Orange Mound sound. Funky, street-rooted, and less horror-influenced than some of the darker North and South Memphis releases of the same era. Chilly D really carries the sonic identity here, keeping things cohesive while letting the different members rotate in and out with their own style. King Goldi and Bony Mac show up strong throughout, and the tape feels more structured compared to earlier OJC material. Despite it being much shorter.
