Youngsta’s on A Come Up was produced by Big Jook and The Gimisum Family, with Skinny Pimp most likely responsible for the beats. This tape captures Lil Yo during an early stage of his career, after leaving DJ Sound in mid-1996 and before he became known as Yo Gotti. He was only about 15 years old when this tape was recorded, making it an especially interesting release for documenting the very early years of one of Memphis rap’s later major artists.
