This tape functions as a maxi-single / promo release for Lil Gin’s upcoming Shake Junt album, which would officially drop in 1995. It was released either at the very end of 1994 or in early 1995 and is the earliest solo tape by Lil Gin. What makes this release especially notable is Lil Gin’s age since he was only 14 years old at the time of recording and release. Despite that, the tape fits seamlessly into the darker, more aggressive Memphis sound of the era. Production is handled primarily by DJ Paul, with Skinny Pimp & Juicy J very likely contributing as well. Rather than a full album, this tape works as a teaser, spotlighting the Shake Junt aesthetic while also anchoring Lil Gin within the same sonic universe as Skinny Pimp, Koopsta Knicca, and Carmike. The title track would go on to become one of the most recognizable cuts associated with the Three Six Mafia & Gimisum Collection. As Lil Gin was always a member of Skinny Pimp’s Gimisum Family formed in 1994.
