King of Da Playaz Ball helped establish Skinny Pimp as one of Memphis’ premier solo artists. The project features production from DJ Paul, Juicy J, and Lil Pat, along with appearances from Gangsta Blac, Lord Infamous, Gangsta Boo, Koopsta Knicca, K-Rock, MC Mack, Scanman, Crunchy Black, King Goldi, Playa G, Ann Hines, and others. Blending dark Three 6 Mafia-style production with Skinny Pimp’s charismatic delivery and street narratives, King of Da Playaz Ball became one of the defining Memphis rap albums of the 1990s and remains a cornerstone of the city’s underground legacy.
