Homicyde – Solo Tape 187 Part II (1993)
An underrated old school classic, Solo Tape 187 Part II is a deep dive into the Memphis underground scene of the early ’90s. Its exact release date is tough to pinpoint but it dropped sometime after DJ Paul & Juicy J’s Volume #1 and the 2 Thick tape, yet before Paul’s Volume #15. The tape is notable for Homicyde’s bold diss against Paul & Juicy on the outro, despite working with them on the entirety of the tape. Featuring collaborations with heavy hitters like Juicy J, Project Pat, Lyrical Dope, and more, this tape blends hard-hitting beats with gritty street narratives and iconic Southern rap style. This would also be Project Pat’s first ever rap song on “Where’s Yo Bankroll”.
