Tales From Da Southside was released in May 1995 and is a lesser-documented underground tape from the mid-’90s Memphis scene. DJ Glock is from Sommerville, Tennessee, and the tape reflects a more stripped-down, straightforward production style compared to the darker or more experimental releases coming out of Memphis around the same time. The project leans heavily on street narratives, robbery, and posse-oriented tracks, with frequent interludes breaking up the pacing. While not as polished as some contemporaneous releases, Tales From Da Southside stands as a raw look at the growing local Memphis Rap scene when it began to expand to other counties in 94-95. South End Posse members include DJ Glock, T Mack, Lil Chunk, Lil Grip, Dangerous J, Big Duce, Big Mike, Killa Ken, Tight Eyes, Babyface.
