Mr. Tinimaine – Krept & I Kame (1995)

Krept & I Kame is Mr. Tinimaine’s debut album, released in very early 1995, and marks his official introduction as a solo artist outside of group appearances. Tinimaine was a member of the 2 Thick crew, led by DJ Zirk, who also handles the production here. According to both Zirk and Tinimaine, this tape dropped right at the start of 1995, during a period when DJ Zirk’s camp was expanding rapidly. The album carries a raw, aggressive street tone consistent with Zirk’s darker mid-90s sound, blending paranoia, hustler themes, and crew-heavy tracks. While Tinimaine is the focal point, the tape features several familiar voices from the Zirk circle, including King Goldi, Insane, Lil Kaine, and Don Trigga, reinforcing the tight-knit nature of the 2 Thick roster. Krept & I Kame stands as an important early document of Tinimaine’s career, capturing him at the beginning stages before later collaborations and appearances would further cement his name in the Memphis underground. It is also important to mention that Tinimaine was one of the first rappers to come from East Memphis. With Tinimaine representing Elmridge Street.
