This release marks the period when DJ Sound transitioned from mixtapes to fully producing his own original tapes, proudly representing the Frayser neighborhood of Memphis. Volume #3 showcases a more raw and authentic underground sound, featuring local artists and highlighting DJ Sound’s evolving production skills and influence in the early ‘90s Memphis rap scene. All of his rappers at the time were his immediate circle which included lifelong friends like Player One and family members like Dirty Red.
