Since I can’t upload for the next 24 hours, I figured I’d ask for some feedback on the rips I’ve already done and hear what everyone’s favorites are.

  1. What is your all-time favorite Memphis tape?

  2. What is your favorite tape rip that I’ve uploaded so far?

  3. Which tape are you most excited for me to rip in the future?

For me personally:

  1. DJ Sound – Volume #9
To me, this is peak Memphis. The production, the variety of rappers, and the overall mood make it a perfect tape front to back.

  2. DJ Paul – Volume #14
One of my favorite rips I’ve done so far. That tape really captures the raw, slowed-down, smoked-out sound that made early Three 6-era Memphis so special.

  3. DJ Spanish Fly – Volume #46
Unheard Spanish Fly from December 1994. There's a copy for sale on Ebay now for over $1,000

Curious to hear everyone else’s picks and thoughts.

leaving out the 36 catalog since they have so much great stuff.

1. 196 Clique - Crucifixes, in all honesty first time I heard it did not resonate at all & but it has grown on me for the last couple of months now.

2. Big Jag - NMCTMA, I like how it is unabashed about its message & its like a window for the sentiment that was going on back then esp. in Memphis.

3. Psycho - The Return of Psycho, one of the first tapes I got into & was pretty accessible since I was listening to G-Funk & stuff like that at the time.

---

Just bumped that Spanish Fly #46, never got into Spanish Fly but it was cool to hear that! Can't say I know what tapes you have or plan to release but the more rips that are out there, the better!

1# DJ Paul & Juicy J Volume 3

2# I have been obsessed with DJ Spanish Fly 22 & 31 since joining this site.

3# Immortal Lowlife - The Dark Fortress (if you have it or end up ripping it), I haven't heard a good rip of it other than the official CD remaster.

Still got so much I haven't listened to yet though.
