Wanted to add some of my most underrated producers from the 1990s, in my opinion.
If you have any you want to add, please do!

  1. G Loc (Trauma Center Killaz)

  2. Ali Boom!!! (Catifsh, 40 Killa mafia)
  3. Lil Pat (Pimps & Robbers album, Homicyde – “Paranoid”)

  4. SMK (Key proponent of the early sound and the success of the “Gangsta Walk.” Also helped jumpstart DJ Paul’s producing career.)

SMK is a great choice, he really pushed the SP1200 to its limits & was more creative with it (comparatively to DJ Paul & Squeeky). G-Loc, kind of felt like he didn't have enough production outside those two tapes & D-Pimpin (1 or 2 tracks iirc) & on part 2 its shown he produced way more tapes than whats online, still some of those beats didn't really stick unlike on Tales Of A Horror Flick even on there it's co-produced by Big Mike so its hard to really differentiate the two styles (Big Mike & G-Loc). Can't really speak On Ali Boom!!! much since I did have a listen way back when & didn't capture my attention all that much.

Cazearei/DJ Scar comes to mind, so many albums he produced but little to no praise, outside of that he also had Juicy & Paul come thru ARP at one point.

Mr. Mitch also is also up on my list, just love the opener he did on 74 Minutes of Bump.

G-Loc also did Hard D Gangsta Hard tape like the "High Off This Shit" song and possibly other tapes by Hard D. Chaz is good too but his catalog is scattered and seemingly largely accounted for. Not to discredit his impact, but it's just hard to measure what he actually produced himself. If you know some good tracks can you list some I don't know enough about A.R.P. I also wanted to add M.D.B. to my list he has even less material from the 90s than G-Loc. But M.D.B.'s 3 tapes from the 90's are among the top tier of Memphis tapes.

I know what you mean, Chaz tends to be more secretive & out of the way than other producers who stamp their name at the bottom or even speak on their tapes. He had an UG Sound from 1993-1995, a soulful sound from 1994-1997 & produced more crunk stuff from that year onwards. Some tracks include, Young Lo - Seventh Street Bound Pt. 1 & 2, 1-9-6 Clique's whole tape Michael Street's solo & DJ Cutlass/1.5 - Playas Only, his later stuff is great too, LMG Mafia's two albums have beats by him & Killa Krew/D Roc have some stuff produced by him.

MDB, almost forgot about him, he had good drum fills & unique samples too, the beats he did for Tommy were fire, heard he was going to release more stuff from that era soon.

Me and my homie read your comment off together and we both just learned something. Never knew that Chaz did 196 Clique, Young Lo & Playas Only Appreciate you for your information, it seems like he never went out his away for production credits on some of these releases. As, he is not listed on them.
