About 15 years ago, I purchased a copy of Come W/ Me To Hell II from an ebay seller who's account name was something like tommywrightiii (I don't believe I have any of the records from my order).

The seller claimed the copy was a modern tape made from a 1st generation copy of the original master. I can't find my recording from the tape, so I will need to redo that. I only have a couple Walkmans so not the best, but I remember the spectrogram not looking much like the versions I already had.

I saw that one of the tapes on this site was purchased directly through Tommy Wright III. Do you know if this account might have been legitimate or where this tape might have originated from?

Thank you,

I can't speak for others but yes he did have an EBay account back then around the 2010s, but unfortunately he did bootleg just about every tape he sold on there. White sticker tapes specifically was a big tell & the newer shell he used was usually an indicator that it was a bootleg/not OG. But it would have decent quality. You can find some orders on valueyourmusic.

@ss03 It came in a case just like you described. I bought it under the impression it was a reproduction so I'm happy. I was like 16 so getting a usable tape for $20 was a win! Thank you so much for the info!

Nowadays it's next to impossible to get tapes from TW through mail. The first time I bought from him was in December 2020, I didn't that get package until march or April 2022. In 2025 I doubt he still has these exact tapes. If he does he will press more copies from it with what blank tapes he still has. Last time he did this was in 2022-23 with white label cassettes with no screws. If I were you, I would just start looking for any copy of that of that same release instead of looking for the exact press. It was good while it lasted but demand has grown in part with people like TW & P1 no longer doing their white label tape presses. I missed out on that cheaper era entirely.

@trunkmusictapes Thank you for the info! I am just glad to have anything, I was in high school so anything close to real was way out of my budget.

PS This website is truly a treasure, I have done nothing but listen to and process (for personal use) the music you have on here for the past 3 weeks.
