Tela – Piece of Mind (1996)

Piece of Mind was released on November 5, 1996, as Tela’s debut release on Suave House Records, the Houston, Texas-based label founded by Tony Draper. The album was produced by Slice Tee, with Jazze Pha contributing background vocals and keyboards. The project features appearances from 8Ball & MJG, Mr. Mike, Crime Boss, and a number of Suave House-affiliated artists, bringing together Memphis and Houston/Southern rap influences. Piece of Mind helped establish Tela as one of the notable artists coming out of the Suave House camp during the mid-1990s.
