Although only a handful of tracks were completed, the tape serves as an early look at the North Memphis sound that would continue to develop over the following years through both producers. Featuring performances from Alazae, Rocwell, Soul Keeper, and Rocko, Ghetto Life blends melodic production with street-oriented lyricism and stands as an overlooked release from Memphis’ rapidly expanding underground scene during the mid-1990s.
